Air Travel

Baltimore Washington International (BWI) Airport is located approximately 30 minutes north of the city of Greenbelt, Maryland, and is the most convenient airport. Other airports servicing the area are Washington Reagan National Airport (approximately 45 minutes) and Dulles International Airport (approximately one hour). (Times given are best case (non-rush hour).)

The following information concerning ground transportation is believed to be correct, but you should verify before making plans.

Transportation from/to BWI airport

In addition to the usual car rental and taxi services, BWI offers the Supershuttle. Supershuttle provides service from 5:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. daily, and the one-way cost to the Greenbelt Marriott will be $21 for the first person and $10 for each additional person. No reservations needed for transportation to the Marriott from BWI -- just make arrangements with the Ground Transportation desk adjacent to the baggage claim area. Twenty-four hour advance reservations are recommended for transportation to flights departing from BWI. Call Supershuttle at 800-BLUE-VAN (1-800-258-3826).

Transportation from/to Reagan National airport

In addition to the usual car rental and taxi services, National offers the Supershuttle. Supershuttle provides service from 5:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. daily, and the one-way cost to the Greenbelt Marriott will be $21 for the first person and $8 for each additional person. No reservations needed for transportation to the Marriott from National -- just carry your baggage to the curb and contact the Supershuttle ground transportation attendant. Twenty-four hour advance reservations are recommended for transportation to flights departing from National. Call Supershuttle at 800-BLUE-VAN (1-800-258-3826).

Another transportation option from National Airport is to take the Metro (subway). The best route is to take the yellow line to the Gallery Place-Chinatown station and switch to the red line. Take the red line to Ft. Totten and change to the green line. The last stop on the green line is Greenbelt. From there you'll have to take a taxi to your hotel. Travel time via the Metro between National and Greenbelt is about 30-40 minutes (more during commuter hours).

Transportation from/to Dulles International airport

In addition to the usual car rental and taxi services, Dulles offers the Supershuttle. Supershuttle provides service from 5:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. daily, and the one-way cost to the Greenbelt Marriott will be $30 for the first person and $10 for each additional person. No reservations needed for transportation to the Marriott from Dulles -- just carry your baggage to the curb and contact the Supershuttle ground transportation attendant. Twenty-four hour advance reservations are recommended for transportation to flights departing from Dulles. Call Supershuttle at 800-BLUE-VAN (1-800-258-3826).
